First Teaser Poster of the upcoming Expresso Series.

About the new character: I'm doing some pics with Adriano, the main character, and different young inventors of the series. The text aside is: "Make your alliances carefully. Choose your risks very well". She's an argentinian young inventor, Valentina Guerra; I'll not say too much about her yet, but she's not a very friendly character at first.

Oh, yes: Expresso has a new logo, more geometric, less victorian-like. The story begins at 1901, so it makes sense: It wasn't victorian-like times no more. They're science-driven kids, the first generation of geeks; the futurist movement was close (The Marinetti's Futurism Manifest was written at late 1910's), and they're up-to-date person at the bone.

So I preferred to relate them for a more Roycroft/Glasgow style approach. It matches with early XX century better than Alphonse Mucha, by the way. I can't see steam girls wearing visible corsets on this world; they're not goths. I decided to add a lot of color on my characters, to spare them from common people – the pre-Ford T cars were very colorful, we're too used to think about those times in b/w and sepia tones by the photos, but we're forgetting the basics: those are b/w photos from a colofur world! About their attitude, a good book about the spirit of those times was "Fathers and Sons", by Ivan Turgueniev (it's from 1862, it's true, but it defined the generation clash for the rest of the century on Russia – and I tried borrowed some of its spirit in Expresso! background).
